Seeing Red?
You may see your power number in the top-left flash red when riding in a group with PD4. The red indicates “autobraking” – the game client slightly slowing your rider as it attempts to predict your intent and keep you from moving forward in the pack when that’s not what you’re looking to do.
In practice, for me at least, the slowing hasn’t been noticeable and has, in fact, kept me where I want to be in the group.

That calculation is really really imprecise (barely works for population level, not for individuals) so don't even look at that. Your max HR is basically maximum heartrate you can achieve, so you can test it by doing some kind of maximum effort as long as you can and see what your HR was during that activity. Other than that, it is not unhealthy to train under heavy load (high HR), as a matter of fact some of most important training is being done at >90% max HR. Having good fan setup, hydration etc is a good thing, you don’t have to make things artificially harder for yourself, but high HR alone during a training isn’t an issue
See lessIs there a way (within Zwift) to see what surfaces a given route will have?
Not that I'm aware of. I have to use Zwift Insider to tell me what the surface is.

I’m not sure the file structure on Macs, but on PC the custom workout files are.zwo filetype and located in Docs/Zwift/Workouts/######/ where the ### will be your unique Zwift ID. You can edit, add, delete files directly into that folder and they’ll appear in-game.
You can also edit the workout files in a text editor. To better organize your workouts, use the category and subcategory tags, like this:

Your avatar will match your irl cadence. It doesn't make any difference to the difficulty of the effort but knowing your cadence is useful for pacing yourself. ie low cadence at higher watts is harder to maintain. Yeah, cadence is definitely useful for you to know. You can figure out what cadence is most efficient for you and target either strength or fitness with your workout. Yes, just like in the real world it takes more energy to push a bigger weight upwards. On hills the ratio of watts per kilogram is more important than raw power.
See lessDoes zwift racing take into account the users’ weight?
Zwift always considers weight when determining how "fast" you are going through. So yes, racing dynamics also consider weight (heavier riders need more power to go up a hill at the same speed etc.) If your question is are there weight categories for zwift races the answer is not really. The categories are based on w/kg ftp so definitely weight related but there are no “80+ kg” categories for example
